Dr M.I Kamlongera has an early career background in corporate marketing and communications. She is a published researcher, academic and development communication practitioner.
She has a PhD from Oslo Metropolitan University in Norway. She additionally holds an MA in Communication and Development and an M.Ed Critical Studies from Ohio University, U.S.A.
Her interests include exploring critical approaches to research within the fields of gender, media, and social change. Her research efforts are geared towards a decolonial approach to telling narratives and creating knowledge together with marginalized groups.
Dr. Mary-Magdalene Ngum Chumbow, a committed communicator, aims to tackle social disparities using storytelling.
With a Ph.D. in Media Arts specializing in Health Communication, her research focuses on survivors of Female Genital Cutting in Kenya, championing their narratives for social change. Dr. Chumbow's extensive academic background, including a master's degree in communication and development, fuels her expertise in fostering inclusive societies.
Beyond academia, she actively advocates for underrepresented communities, showcasing a dedication to diversity and inclusion. Her passion for storytelling and social causes positions her as a compelling force for positive change, consistently amplifying marginalized voices and striving for lasting societal impact.
Mkotama Katenga-Kaunda holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in International studies and a Master of Arts in International Relations.
He has more than 5 years of experience in communication for development with numerous publications in the environmental sector and international politics, with a focus on African Studies.
He is also experienced in content creation for an array of media platforms such as WordPress websites, online newsletters, Facebook, Twitter, etc. He is also proficient in using modern communication tools (DSLR camera, video camera and various audio recording devices) for communication content development.
Fundi Kayamba-Phiri is a seasoned expert in environmental governance, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development with a focus on translating research into actionable strategies. Holding a Master’s degree in International Development Studies from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), her career spans roles from programme management in climate resilience to strategic learning leadership within international development frameworks.
Currently, Fundi steers global teams, integrating research and development to foster impactful community transformations. Her work underscores a commitment to knowledge creation, emphasizing participatory methodologies that empower marginalized communities.
A published author and academic proofreader, Fundi's contributions extend beyond program management to the academic realm, advocating for research that informs policy and leads to tangible community adaptations. Her interests lie in bridging theoretical research with practical implementation, particularly within the contexts of climate change, environmental governance and rural development at large.
Luntha Kalonga is a distinguished Internal Auditor and consultant with extensive expertise in accounting, auditing, and finance. Serving as the Internal Auditor for Mzuzu City Council, he provides comprehensive audit services, training, and consulting, enhancing financial and operational integrity across the board.
His proficiency in assessing control environments, identifying risks, and ensuring quality control, backed by membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Malawi and the Institute of Internal Auditors, underscores his professional acumen. Before his tenure at Mzuzu, Luntha contributed significantly as an external auditor for the Malawi Government, improving internal controls and compliance across various departments.
His career began in education, teaching mathematics with notable success at Lilongwe Girls Secondary School. Holding degrees in Education Science and Accounting and Finance, Luntha also enjoys football, fitness, and backpacking, reflecting his well-rounded personality and commitment to both professional and personal growth.
